The Gables is a mixed residential care facility for people with a mental disorder or learning disability, situated in Chippenham, Wiltshire. It lies within a pleasant residential area a little over a half mile from the town centre.

We opened The Gables in 1987 with four elderly residents. Over the past 17 years we have gradually expanded and currently provide care for up to 26 people under the age of 65 years, some of whom have challenging behaviour.

The Gables comprises of three small units, set in a quiet private cul-de-sac. The rooms are all tastefully decorated and furnished, providing a homely setting for our residents. We have secure and very pleasant gardens to the front and rear. Within the grounds we have a Residents Activities Centre and a small animal pen with pygmy goats, rabbits, chickens and guinea pigs.

We aim to create small family groups, in an environment where our residents can enjoy life in a homely atmosphere.

Under caring supervision each resident is encouraged to attain their full potential with the right to choose. Care services are planned and provided to integrate residents into the life of the home and local community.

We encourage self sufficiency, however we are always available to support and assist residents in any aspect of daily life. Experienced staff are on hand twenty-four hour’s a day to give advice, help, and encouragement.
